For the fourth consecutive year, the Lafayette Inn has been selected for the 2011 Best of Blue Ridge Award in the Bed & Breakfast category by the US Commerce Association (USCA). This is the first time that a business has qualified as a four-time award winner.

Gil Zentgraf, as owner and Executive Chef of About You Catering in Baltimore came to the Lafayette Inn in the spring of 2005 to enhance the Inn's catering business. Since this time, Gil has become the Executive Chef now overseeing all of the restaurants kitchen responsibilities. At the recent Virginia Food and Wine Society Banquet, the Wine Association named the Lafayette Inn "Virginia's Restaurant of the Year". Gil is a 1985 graduate of the Baltimore Culinary College and as such has recently celebrated his 20th year in the restaurant industry.
